Child Pool Safety

Children and pools are typically a bad combination. There are many reasons for this, but mainly children just do not know how to swim. If you are currently giving your child swimming lessons, then you have made the first step in keeping them safe around water. There are some safety rules that almost all pools abide by, including

  • Do not run on deck
  • No diving, except for specified areas
  • No horse play

Of course there are more specific rules, but they do not have to do with child pool safety. The ultimate in child pool safety, however, is to teach your child how to swim. If your child can swim at a young age, there is less risk for them to drown. If your child is not at risk of drowning when they are in a pool, they are almost as safe as when they are on land. Of course, if something goes wrong in the pool that they do not have control of, they may still be at risk.
